On November 22nd, the National Energy Administration released the national power industry statistics for January to October.
As of the end of October, the cumulative installed capacity of power generation in the country was about 2.5 billion kilowatts, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year. Among them, the installed capacity of wind power was about 350 million kilowatts, an increase of 16.6% year-on-year; the installed capacity of solar power was about 360 million kilowatts, an increase of 29.2% year-on-year.
From January to October, the average utilization hours of power generation equipment in the country was 3,083 hours, a decrease of 103 hours compared to the same period last year. Among them, thermal power was 3,619 hours, a decrease of 52 hours compared to the same period last year; nuclear power was 6,226 hours, a decrease of 245 hours compared to the same period last year; wind power was 1,817 hours, a decrease of 10 hours compared to the same period last year.
From January to October, the investment in power generation projects of major power generation enterprises in the country totaled RMB 460.7 billion, an increase of 27.0% year-on-year. Among them, the investment in solar power generation was RMB 157.4 billion, an increase of 326.7% year-on-year. The investment in grid projects was RMB 351.1 billion, an increase of 3.0% year-on-year.
From January to October, the newly added installed capacity in the country was 127.96 million kilowatts, an increase of 22.52 million kilowatts year-on-year; among them, wind power was 21.14 million kilowatts, an increase of 1.94 million kilowatts year-on-year; solar power was 58.24 million kilowatts, an increase of 28.92 million kilowatts year-on-year.
